ONCE IN YOUR LIFETIME: WORLD BOWHUNTER CHAMPIONSHIPS AND THE MIDNIGHT SUN
WBHC 2023 in Finland, Rovaniemi on 30th June - 8th July 2023
Dear archers all over the World,
starting from 30 June 2023 Finland organizes WBHC 2023 in Finnish Lapland. This is the first time in history of Field Archery to have a competition in Lapland. The experience will be unique to people that are used to have twilight in the evening and dark at night – we have sunshine 24 hours every day!
Shooting in the Middle of the Night!
The ranges are located within walking distance from the Competition Centre. Also, the warmup field is near, only 100 metres from the Competition Centre. Everybody will shoot also during Midnight! One of our rounds will start in the evening, and archers will come back from the course during the first hours of the next morning.
Rovaniemi, “Capital of Lapland”
The host town, Rovaniemi, is a modern university city, “Capital of Lapland” with top level accommodation and good restaurants. The Competition centre is located ideally, both for the competition and accommodation. Rovaniemi is also a very popular city for travellers, offering several activities for families and kids. For example, Santa Claus lives only six kilometres away from the city and it takes only ten minutes to go there…
Easy connections
For those archers who may wonder about the distance from their home to Lapland, I want to say that from Helsinki, the capital of Finland, there is a nice flight connection to Rovaniemi. You can also travel from Helsinki by train to the city of Rovaniemi. In Rovaniemi, we will organize a daily shuttle bus opportunity from the hotels in the city. This means that you do not need a car during the whole week. So, you can plan your trip using only airplanes and connecting trains.
Not too expensive
The quality of Finnish hotels is good, and the price level is quite normal compared to other European countries. For those archers who like to travel with low costs, there are good quality camping places near the venue.
